It’s a beautiful day on my little 1/2 acre in Ohio.  Sun is hot, but I am in a shaded heaven.  Surrounded by maple, oaks, and over grown pine trees, shade is not lacking in this yard.  I am a Hosta freak, so shade is important.  In case Hosta is not in your vocabulary, it is a species of plant that loves shade and comes in a huge selection of varieties.  The picture  here is a hosta called Pineapple Upside Down Cake.  I have several kinds and I will eventually have pics of them all on here.

Since this is day one of this blog, I will keep it short.  Just trying to determine how it all works.  For now though, I have some yard work to do. The next door neighbor guy has taken it upon himself to start trimming out some bushes on the property line.  Better go help him out so he doesn’t go whacking them  to the ground.  He cleaned out the wooded part of his property so he could park his boats and other motorized toys.  My biggest regret was putting down roots in this community instead of moving to a farm in the boonies.  But this is home, so bloom where you’re planted the saying goes. 

This little Japanese maple failed that test, so it was back to the nurseryman who sold it to me.  Always keep your receipts!!!!
